The Serbian government has earmarked 91 million Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) as aid to the city of Novi Pazar which has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

A notice in the Official Gazette said that the government decided to transfer the money from the budget reserve for “obligations which were unpredictable while drafting the budget and which could pose a danger to current liquidity”.

According to Finance Ministry data, budget income reached the level of just 60 percent in April.

Novi Pazar is one of the main hotspots of the coronavirus pandemic in Serbia and the income to the local treasury has dropped significantly.
