Serbian Health Minister says numbers not encouraging

He said that in Belgrade alone, 3,185 people with respiratory ailments had been tested, including 318 at the Infectious Diseases Clinic. Just 270 of them were hospitalized with the symptoms that meet criteria for admission.

“Those are not figures that we can be satisfied with… I really hope that these are the figures to force our citizens to think about the situation we face and what we have to do to get out of it,” Loncar said.

He added that patients were being transferred from hospitals in Belgrade to medical facilities outside the Serbian capital. He said the Rheumatology Institute would be transformed into a COVID-19 clinic.
