Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) President Marko Cadez said on Thursday that the new economic measures announced by President Aleksandar Vucic are among the most important in helping the economy survive.

Vucic said on Wednesday evening that the government would pay 60 percent of the minimum wage to all employees in SMEs for the next two months and would deffer payment of taxes and duties for at least another month.

“That measure will preserve the production industry,” Cadez told the Serbian state TV (RTS) but warned that the chain of suppliers has been disrupted.

He said that measures for the tourist and passenger transport industries are expected to come next.
