The United Against COVID letter was initially signed by some 350 doctors who demanded the dismissal of the Crisis Staff, warning that the country was in the midst of a medical catastrophe because the pandemic had been mismanaged. The letter also demanded an investigation to determine the exact number of people who contracted the coronavirus and number of coronavirus-related deaths.

The teachers opened a separate web page to express their support to the doctors. “Those of us whose calling is to educate young people and create the future of this country by developing the spirit and intellect of the people who will one day build Serbia have to raise our voices and support the doctors in their struggle for truth and freedom,” the teachers said in their letter of support, adding that the doctors had “named the real evil threatening us all – incompetence and politics”.
