Trade Minister Rasim Ljajic said on Monday it was possible the weapons which appeared in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflicts were exported from Serbia in 2015, the Beta news agency reported.
„In May and June of 2020, Serbia approved two agreements on the export of ammunition for guns and riffles to Armenia. Earlier, in 2015, I think that there was the export of weapons to Azerbaijan,” Ljajic told Radio Free Europe (RFE).
He added it was possible that such arms export happened not only in 2015 but in 2016 and 2017 as well.
Ljajic told RFE he looked into old agreements.
Last week, Ljajic said the weapons exported to Armeniaby a private company which had permits from four ministries, including his own, and the country’s top civilian intelligence and security agency the BIA.
Ljajic’s Ministry issues the final permit for the arms trade. He heads the Ministry since April 2014.
