Health Minister: Belgrade worst hit by coronavirus epidemic

The Health Minister in Serbia’s outgoing Government Zlatibor Loncar, said on Monday that Belgrade topped the country list of people infected with coronavirus with 43.81 percent, the FoNet news agency reported.

He specified that in the last 24 hours, the Clinic Infectious Diseases had 164 patients, two of whom were hospitalised, and 57 tests conducted, while 54 people were transferred to other COVID-19 hospitals in the capital.

Goran Stevanovic, the Clinic Director, confirmed the decrease in the number of sick people but warned that it was still high and added that patients with severe clinical symptom and young people were still coming to his Clinic.

Loncar said that 690 medical staff were tested positive for coronavirus and that 72 of them were hospitalised. He said they were mostly infected outside hospitals.
