President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev told Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that Armenians used the ammunition manufactured in Serbia to attack Azerbaijani military and civilians during the July conflict, stressing that this fact raised concerns in his country.
Following the phone conversation of the two presidents, the local APA news agency said it was Vucic who initiated the talks and that his Azerbaijani counterpart thank him for that. The agency also reported that the President of Serbia expressed his regrets over the fact that the ammunition produced in Serbia was used in the conflict with Armenians.
Vucic also said a high ranking delegation from Serbia will be sent to Azerbaijan soon to investigate the situation, according to the statement published on the Azerbaijani President’s official website.
Former President of Serbia and leader of the Social Democratic Party Boris Tadic dismissed the allegations about Serbia selling the weapon to Armenia during his term, and he invited President Vucic for a TV debate.
