Belgrade Pride organizers said on Wednesday that Pride Week and the Pride March will not be held in traditional form this year, adding that the Pride Week program will be partly online with a reduced live program to follow coronavirus pandemic regulations and recommendations.
A press release said that the program for the September 14-20 Pride Week and September 19 march and concert will be released early in September.
This year’s Pride Week is the 10th to be held in the Serbian capital.
“Most Belgrade Pride activities have been online since the pandemic broke out but we want to stress the importance of events linked to the fight for the equality and human rights of the LGBT community and the unequal position of the LGBT+ community in Serbia with the expectation that the new Serbian government will immediately adopt the law on registered partnerships and law on gender identity,” the press release said.
