The Serbian opposition Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) sent the Anti-Corruption Council the contract between the state-owned Telekom Serbia and businessman Igor Zezelj’s Wireless company which it says is absolutely harmful to both the public and the state.

The SSP said in an accompanying letter that it believes the information it provided will play a significant part in the Council’s decision making process at its coming meeting which Council Vice-President Miroslav Milicevic said would focus on a report on corruption in Telekom.

The SSP also sent a copy of a 37.9 million Euro contract between the two companies which shows that Telekom paid Zezelj’s company that amount. It said that economy and law experts believe that contract is fictitious. “We expect you to consider it and inform the Serbian government and prosecution. It is in the interest of the public for the Council report, its discussion and conclusions as well as its activities regarding our request to be shared with the public and show that as members of this Council you are truly and uncompromisingly fighting corruption,” the SSP letter said.
