Wireless Media owner Igor Zezelj tried to pressure the Anti-Corruption Council prior to Wednesday’s meeting devoted to his company’s contract with the government-controlled Telekom Serbia.

“The Anti-Corruption Council would like to inform the public that just before today’s meeting Igor Zezelj tried to exert pressure on the Council. The attempt at pressure additionally motivated the Council to analyze even more deeply and precisely the said contract and the Council will request additional information from the Serbian government, Telekom Serbia and Wireless Media,” the Council said in a press release sent to N1.

The Council asked Wireless Media and Telekom Serbia to submit a credible copy of the contract following claims that the contract that the Council has in its possession is not complete and that it does not have the annexes to the contract. “Also, the Council has been told that the contract in its possession was not obtained legally and is marked business secret,” the press release said.

The Council also called Zezelj to publish the letter sent to that body and will inform the public about its decisions, it said.

Earlier, Council Vice-President Miroslav Milicevic said that the Anti-Corruption Council would issue an opinion on the Telekom as an issue of great public importance. Anti-Corruption Council member Jelisaveta Vasilic also wrote an opinion about the contract between Telekom and Wireless media.

There have been claims that the state-owned Telekom paid millions of Euro to Zezelj’s company to buy the Adria Media group whose publications include the pro-authorities Kurir tabloid.
