Marinika Tepic, a deputy leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), wrote on Thursday to stock exchanges which listed 'Asseco SEE' company and its main board about suspicious and potentially corrupt activities by Serbia's Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and her brother Igor Brnabic.
Tepic suggested an internal investigation and offered her help and cooperation.
"Neither those stock exchanges nor the citizens of Serbia should be victims of manipulations and suspicious transactions," Tepic wrote.
She added "the immeasurable damage was inflicted onto Serbia's citizens, but also to the reputation of the three world stock exchanges", including the largest electronic stock exchange in the USA - Nasdaq, as well as the stock exchanges in Israel and Poland."
Tepic wrote that there is a well-founded suspicion that the Asseco SEE branch in Serbia used the position of the company's director in Belgrade, Igor Brnabic, the Prime Minister's brother.
She said that "the enormous increase in the value and number of state contracts awarded to Asseco SEE coincides with the time after Brnabic became the Prime Minister of Serbia ".
Along with the attached business documents, Tepic added Serbia's rating "drastically dropped" when declared a "hybrid regime" on the Freedom House list. Besides, Tepic claimed that Brnabic and her brother were in a conflict of interest,
"I believe that all companies listed on your stock exchange should maintain high standards of ethical business practice wherever they operate in the world," Tepic wrote.
"Moreover," she added, "I believe that your institution can confirm compliance with the ethical norms of its members and investigate whether any of your members are involved in corruption and money laundering in Serbia and the region," Tepic said in the letter to stock exchanges in New York, Israel and Poland.
