Israel’s Ambassador in Serbia Yahel Vilan told Finance Minister Sinisa Mali that investors from his country are very satisfied and want to continue their investments, the Finance Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

Vilan is quoted as saying that the economic situation in Serbia is good and that Israel could learn a lot from it about the economy and health care, especially in terms of the coronavirus pandemic.

The minister said that investors recognized the government’s efforts to create a favorable business environment and added that the best indicator of that are the 1.8 billion Euro in foreign direct investments this year. Mali said that Serbia has macro-economic stability with record low unemployment of 7.3 percent and added that he expects the country to rank among the top three in Europe in terms of its GDP. He said that Serbia has learned a lot from Israel, especially in innovation.
