The Vojvodina Public Health Institute said on Tuesday that the epidemiological situation in Serbia’s northern province is worsening with a significant rise in the number of new coronavirus cases in the past few days.

“The daily number of registered cases in Vojvodina has been rising continuously since October 20 with 86 new cases registered on Monday alone and a significant rise in the number of hospitalized patients,” a statement said. It added that there are 516 active cases in the province which is twice more than a week earlier. “There are active cases in 36 of the 45 municipalities in Vojvodina,” the statement said.

According to the Institute, the situation is worst in Novi Sad and Zrenjanin and among the working population.
