High air pollution was recorded in Belgrade early on Thursday, as well as in several other places in Serbia, according to the Air Visual application, while official data on the Environmental Protection Agency’s website showed acceptable air quality.
According to the Air Visual, in Belgrade’s central district of Vracar the air was unhealthy for vulnerable groups, and the values were similar to those in Beijing.
N1 meteorologist Milena Lazarevic said that was the result of the start of the heating season, but also of the weather conditions because Serbia was covered by fog and low clouds for most of the day, which kept soot and dust at the ground layer.
