First anti-coronavirus vaccines in Serbia before New Year, official says

Sanja Skodric, the Director of the Republic Health Insurance Fund, said on Wednesday the first doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine would be available in Serbia before the New Year, and that people in the country would get it for free.

"It's significant to import the first quantities as soon as possible and that the vaccine is registered. We will import the one that has been registered and which our experts approve as safe for the population," she told the Belgrade Prva TV.

Skodric added she would try to import from 500,000 to a million doses before the New Year.

The medical staff, army and police would have priority in vaccination, and then other people pending doctors' decision.
