Serbian PM says claims about higher PCR test prices are epic stupidity

“If anyone things that if you you can fill the budget from a thousand people a day who are tested at their own request by raising the price of tests by 3,000 Dinars while we provided six billion in support for the economy and citizens in 2020, that is more than ill-intentioned,” Brnabic told reporters in the city of Kragujevac.  

She denied that she was involved in raising the price of PCR tests from 6,000 to 9,000 Dinars for Serbian nationals and from 12,000 to 18,000 for foreigners if they are being tested at their own request and not being referred by doctors. “I really did not interfere in the test prices. The people in the working group have been asking for higher prices for some time and we finally decided to meet their demand because they are professionals,” Brnabic said.  

She said that the number of people paying for their own tests never went over 1,500 on any given day. “We are doing 20,000 and more a day and no one will be left untested even if they do not have the money to pay for it, if they show symptoms they will be tested at the expense of the state as was the case to date,” she said.
