
A Gallup poll showed that less than a fourth of Serbians expect things to improve in 2021, the FoNet news agency reported on Tuesday.
According to the poll, 23 percent of Serbians expect next year to be better than 2020 while 36 percent expect an even worse year. It said that 39 percent expect no changes next year.
The poll showed that 53 percent of Serbians believe that the country’s economy will have difficulties next year and just 15 percent believe that next year will be prosperous for the economy.
Feelings of personal happiness among Serbians are similar to the average in the world with 51 percent of the population saying that they consider themselves to be happy or very happy, 39 percent gave a neutral response and eight percent see themselves as unhappy.
Gallup said that half the population of Bosnia-Herzegovina expect things to improve and just 19 percent expect next year to be worse than 2020. It said that 50 percent of the population of North Macedonia think 2021 will be a better year and 26 percent disagree.
