The Montenegrin Health Ministry said on Tuesday that seven more people died of coronavirus-related ailments in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 624 since the pandemic broke out.

Ministry and Public Health Institute officials told a joint news conference that there are 357 patients with COVID-19 in hospital, including 23 on ventilators. Health Minister Jelena Borovinic Bojovic said that the situation is serious and has been ongoing for a long time.

“The first case appeared on March 16 and it’s clear that the problem has become chronic and exhausting,” she said and added that new stricter measures are in place but not the full lockdown that the Public Health Institute called for.
