Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Friday that every conflict in the Balkans broke out when the great powers thought that Serbia was weak and that it was time to resolve the Serbian issue.
“When the great powers speak about resolving the Serbian national question, they resolve it by decreasing the number of Serbs, exhaust the country and never allow the Serbs to unite,” Vulin told the Conference on National Security of Serbia 2020 which was organized by the National Vanuard organization.
Vulin said that national security was in danger whenever Serbia was economically weak. “When there’s not economic power there’s no military power … to fight against everything that makes life impossible,” he said, adding that the economy needs political stability to function. Vulin said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is under attack in order to upset that stability. “Preserving political stability in order to preserve economic security … is the way to protect Serbs wherever they live,” the minister said.
