A leading Serbian epidemiologist said on Friday that 2,534 doctors and nurses are currently infected by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Dr Branislav Tiodorovic, a member of the government pandemic Crisis Staff, told a media briefing that 81 doctors and nurses have been hospitalized while the rest are isolated at their homes.  

Tiodorovic warned that the country is facing a serious situation, especially in hospitals where health care system staff are working in difficult conditions.
