Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic informed the leaders of the public and secret police that groups close to the arrested officer of the National Security Agency (ANB) Petar Lazovic and his father Zoran, a former high-ranking police official, are targeting him as the main culprit for the arrest and are planning some kind of retaliation.

Abazovic informed the Minister of Interior Filip Adzic, the director of the Police Administration Zoran Brdjanin and the director of the ANB Sava Kentera about the information he claims to be receiving, „Vijesti“ writes.

„I was informed by several sources that in talks among groups close to Lazovic, I was mainly targeted because of their problems with the law. Also, I was told that they are trying to create an atmosphere in which I am allegedly ‘pressuring’ the prosecutors to prosecute Lazovic and the criminal-business group of people around them, from the position of Prime Minister. That may or may not be true, and I have absolutely no fear of the thieves, those who Europol claims were smuggling cigarettes, and cocaine and abusing their official position, but I wanted to deal with it, in a legal way, and it can only be done by the public and secret police who will obtain additional information on this matter,“ Abazović told Vijesti.

He also said that he believes that the authorities will not relativize the threats he receives.
