The councillor of the group of citizens „Smelo“ in the assembly of Loznica, Vladan Ljubinkovic, said that he fought and represented the interests of the people of that area.

“My message to the councillors of the ruling majority in the Loznica Assembly is shame on you because you managed to vote twice in two months against the interests of the people of Jadra and Serbia when they brought the spatial plan of Loznica – when they put in the lithium mine. This is a black page in the history of Loznica, which says that the councillors voted to bring misery, gloom and ruin to Loznica. Shame and disgrace for Loznica,” he said

Lawyer Dule Filipovic said that this is not the end and that there is much much work ahead of them.

„It is crucial that the upper Jadar must never again be a place where people will be chased with sticks,“ said Filipovic.

He states that a meeting will be held in the Government of Serbia on Monday and that the Prime Minister will present the Bill on the Prohibition of Exploitation and Research of Lithium and Boron.

The organizers said that the reason for the gathering was gratitude to all those who provided support to the residents of Gornji Nedeljice, in the previous months, in the fight against the exploitation of lithium in that area.

The protest, which was delayed due to bad weather, was joined by the Association of Environmental Organizations of Serbia and the Environmental Uprising, as well as other activists and citizens from places across Serbia.
