The activists prevented construction work at the Staro Sajmiste (Lager Semlin) WW 2 Nazi death camp where a memorial center was supposed to be built. The activists have been preventing the demolition of the Old Savski Bridge which was built during WW 2 and connects the new and old parts of the Serbian capital.

The activists are demanding access to the secret contract with the PowerChina company which is doing the construction work. “The demolition of the bridge and destruction of Staro Sajmiste is corruption in play and we have to stop it,” they said.

They called the public to join them.

The Old Savski Bridge lies next door to the Belgrade Waterfront complex, a project initiated and favored by the Serbian authorities.
