Actress receives threats over support to 'Serbia against Violence' protest

Serbian actress Tamara Dragicevic received threats via social networks, after she expressed support to the weekly protests 'Serbia against violence'. The messages she received mention her children as well as the location where they are staying. Dragicevic's husband, actor Petar Bencina, said the police “did not react” to the threats they reported and that he will “have to protect his family on his own.”
Dragicevic assessed the content of the messages she received as “threats,” stressing that people follow the movements of her children, know their current location and share that information.
She reported the threats to the police, who told her they would look into the information she provided.
According to Dragicevic, the first threats came two weeks ago when she showed support to the rallies. That was when she received a message saying the sender knew about her child's public performance and that she should better be with her kid instead of “calling for murders.”
Asked if she and her family felt threatened, the actress said anyone should ask themselves how would they feel if they received the same message.
Dragicevic's husband, Petar Bencina said he was “furious and upset” and that it would be foolish if he did not take the threats seriously.
“I trust no one. I am going tomorrow to take my child back from the vacation and I will try to protect them on my own. The police did not react. They sent no feedback, I reported the case,” he told Nova.rs after they received the threats.
Many other actors and actresses conveyed messages of support to their colleagues, saying they would protect their own and their colleagues' children together, calling the threats “eerie and unacceptable.”
