Due to another failure of the Belgrade Airport's IT system, in the afternoon and evening hours of Friday, 2 August 2024, there may be more crowds at the flight check-in counters. As a consequence, in the evening wave, there may be significant delays in flights of airlines departing from the Belgrade airport, including Air Serbia, said Serbia's flag carrier Air Serbia.

“If the malfunction is not repaired for a long time, check-in for the flight will be done manually, which will further slow down the entire process. Slowing down the process can lead to potential rescheduling of airport slots by European Air Traffic Control and further consequential disruptions from the planned flight schedule, expiry of crew working hours, as well as expiry of certain airports’ working hours,” said the press release.

Air Serbia apologizes to passengers for the announced disruptions, which occurred due to circumstances beyond the control of the Serbian national airline, it said.

The competent services of Air Serbia are doing everything in their power to reduce the consequences of the failure of the IT system of the Belgrade airport for passengers. All passengers who may lose their connections will be redirected to alternative flights, said Air Serbia.
