Air Serbia diverts Tivat flights due to bird strike hazards

The 8:25 am flight from Tivat to Belgrade was canceled on Friday morning, while several other departures have been delayed. An incoming flight from Belgrade, originally scheduled to land in Tivat at 7:50 am, was diverted, and all subsequent flights from Belgrade to Tivat have been placed on hold for the time being.

Air Serbia noted that other airlines operating out of Tivat have faced similar challenges in recent days. The carrier emphasized that safety assessments and responsible operational decision-making are currently essential to ensure the protection of both passengers and crew.

The airline said it operations teams are reportedly taking all possible measures to minimize disruptions in accordance with the planned flight schedule. Passengers have been advised to contact the company directly for further information regarding their travel.

According to the Montenegrin news portal rtnk.me, a flight from Tivat to Istanbul was forced to turn back on Friday after striking a flock of birds.

Bird strikes are not uncommon in the Tivat Airport area. Such incidents can cause significant damage to aircraft, resulting in costly repairs, and in the most severe cases, pose a serious threat to the safety of the aircraft, its crew, and its passengers.
