A group calling itself Students Who Want to Study banned N1 and Nova S TVs from reporting from their events.

An email said that the group, whose members have been camping outside the Serbian Presidency building for several days, said N1 and Nova S reporters should not turn up for their events because of, the group claims, incorrect and unverified information in their reports. The group are led by a young man who claims to be a medical school student and was seen in the company of President Aleksandar Vucic at his events.

“Unless our demand is met, we will be forced to contact META associates to look into the possibility of suspending your META accounts,” the email warned.

The reaction comes after our and other media outlet crews recorded reports in the Pioneer Park where the alleged students have raised tents in front of the presidency building and after social media network users identified some of them as staff at the Sremska Mitrovica hospital and municipal administration, the owner of a fast food restaurant in Novi Sad and a young women who attended the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) academy for young leaders.

N1 TV will continue to report professionally and responsibly on all events of public interest regardless of demands and threats like these.

The park in front of the Presidency building has been fenced off and some of its entrances have been closed as of Monday morning.
