Anti-femicide gathering in northern Serbian city

The activists from the Novi Sad Against Violence protest laid 24 pairs of women’s shoes on the square in front of town hall in memory of the 24 women killed in Serbia this year.

The performance started with the sound of a siren. Activists handed out chalk for the crowd to write messages of support for women in Bosnia-Herzegovina and against femicide.

Nizama Hecimovic was murdered by her partner in the Bosnian town of Gradacac recently.
