The Belgrade Appeals Court confirmed a lower court ruling ordering the pro-regime tabloid Informer to publish a retraction of a story claiming that N1 justified the killing of Serb children.

The Appeals Court threw out the Informer appeal following the Belgrade Higher Court ruling of April 2024.

Informer is under obligation to publish the following retraction:

"It is incorrect that N1 television and the N1info.rs website, by publishing the article 'Accused pilot for N1: I don't feel guilty, we did everything honestly in the war' on June 8, 2022, are justifying the murderers of Serbian children, as well as defending Croatian pilots who bombed refugees on Petrovačka Street on August 7, 1995. It is incorrect that N1 television supported the attempt by the official Zagreb to declare the Serbian indictment null and void, and that by directly defending those who killed innocent children in the refugee column, they are trying to relativize the crime and to media-defend those accused of massacring Serbian civilians. The truth is that the article published under the title: 'Accused pilot for N1: I don't feel guilty, we did everything right in the war' on June 8, 2022, on the N1info.rs portal contains statements from Danijel Borović, one of the pilots accused of war crimes on Petrovačka Street during Operation Storm in 1995. The statements of Danijel Borović are incorporated into the text, along with information regarding the criminal proceedings and some of the reactions in Croatian and Serbian public opinion. The text does not contain any conclusions from journalists or editors, nor does it take sides with Croatian pilots who are accused of war crimes."
