The Serbian police arrested several people as part of an investigation into corruption in the national power company EPS, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said on Thursday.

Arrests were reported in the Serbian capital Belgrade and the city of Krusevac. The RTS said that the police arrested people suspected of money laundering in connection with the Bauwesen company.

The investigation was launched in February against six people who are suspected of having inflicted damages of about 7.5 million Dollars on the EPS.

Two senior prosecutors at the Higher Public Prosecution were dismissed from the EPS case several weeks ago following the first arrests.
