Artists association demands minister’s dismissal

“They are jeopardizing artists’ right to work and are contributing to the destruction of culture in Serbia,” the petition by the Independent Culture Scene Association said.

It demands the immediate dismissal of Minister Selakovic and Belgrade City Culture Secretary Natasa Mihailovic Vacic “whose actions and failure to act have cut down the little financial support the state secured for culture”. It also demands the immediate release of the results of Culture Ministry competitions which they said were more than 6 months late and expressed concern that the competition funds were misused to finance the Family Days event.
