Arts University students call professors to stop teaching

The Belgrade Arts University is separate from Belgrade University and has 4 schools – visual arts, applied arts, music and drama arts.

“Arts University students are giving professors a 5 day deadline (January 17) to say whether they will fully support their students by stopping all activities…. This call to professors is a form of joint struggle for a better tomorrow and lays the groundwork for a future in which human rights are respected. We feel that a complete stop is the necessary next step which professors at the Arts University should take as the Belgrade University professors have done,” a statement said.

The statement expressed “immense gratitude” to the professors who lent their support from the start of the protests.

It added that the full stop to all teaching activities would provide unequivocal public support and transfer pressure from students to institutions.
