
The Serbian Association of Banks said on Wednesday that the amount of money loaned by business banks had increased 2.3 percent year on year.

A press release said that the total loans to companies, households and entrepeneurs totaled 3.409 trillion Dinars on September 15. Loans to companies totaled 1.847 trillion or 0.6 percent less than a year earlier and loans to entrepreneurs dropped by 4.3 percent to stand at 68.3 billion Dinars. Households took out loans totaling 1.493 trillion dinars, an increase of 6.5 percent.
It said that cash loans to households rose by 4.6 percent while consumer loans dropped by 26.9 percent. Housing loans stood 10.6 percent higher, loans to farmers increased by 8.9 percent and refinancing loans by 13.5 percent.
The press release said that the repayment of 2.8 percent of the total loans had fallen late, the same as a year earlier.
