An X post showed the activists raising the white banner with red words on the building. Reports said that another identical banner was raised in a central city street. The banners were put up over the collapse of a roof at the city’s main railway station which killed 14 and seriously injured 3 people.

The opposition and public have been calling for resignations over the tragedy but only Construction, Infrastructure and Traffic Minister Goran Vesic has offered his resignation while President Aleksandar Vucic said there would be more of them without specifying whose.

A non-partisan protest has been called for 6 pm in Novi Sad on Tuesday. The Novi Sad opposition has lent its support to the gathering.
