Batut Public Health Institute warns of heat wave in northern Serbia

Searing temperatures are expected to impact the South Backa District from July 7 to 13, the North Banat District and the Central Banat District from July 8 to 13, and the South Banat District from July 8 to 10, cautioned the Institute.

In the Serbian capital of Belgrade, the forecasted daily highs will reach critically high levels on July 10 and 13, while very high temperatures are also expected from July 10 to 13 in the north of the country, and in certain parts of northwestern and northeastern Serbia.

The Institute noted that, according to WHO guidelines, a heat wave is characterized by at least three consecutive days of maximum daily temperatures surpassing a defined critical threshold.
