Serbia’s Defence Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic thanked on Wednesday the Belarus ambassador to Belgrade Valery Brylev for four Russian-made Mikoyan MiG-29, a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft, Minsk delivered to Belgrade.
He added the planes would substantially improve the Army of Serbia (VS) capabilities.
Stefanovic said he was satisfied with bilateral relations between the two countries. He added the cooperation between Serbia and Belarus in the defence sector was “developed and multifarious,” with a potential to improve.
Brylev said the two countries’ relationship was based on traditional friendship, mutual respect and Belarus’ support of Serbia’s territorial integrity.
Minsk has recently delivered four more repaired MIG-29 jet fighters, raising the number of those planes at the VS disposal to 14.
