Beldocs to host Eurimages Audentia award

The award is being presented for the 8th time. It was set up by the Council of Europe’s (CoE) Eurimage to promote gender equality in the film industry.

A Beldocs press release quoted Eurimages Fund Executive Director Susan Newman-Baudais as voicing pleasure that the award is being presented at a documentary film festival for the first time. She said Beldocs is a good platform to motivate more women to get into the film industry.

Beldocs CEO Mara Prohaska Markovic expressed pleasure that creative documentary film making is being evaluated by the audio visual industry and the public. “This is also international recognition for Beldocs’ contribution to affirming women and their creativity,” she said.

Beldocs is scheduled for May 10-17 with support from the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
