The Belgrade Appellate Court confirmed the second indictment, known as Jovanjica 2, against people suspected of providing security to defendants accused of growing and selling marijuana at the largest such plant in Europe.
The second indictment charges the Interior Ministry (MUP) and state civilian and military security agencies’ members of protecting the primary defendant and the owner of the Jovanjica marijuana plant Predrag Koluvija.
The indictment also charges Koluvija’s driver Milos Teofilovic, released from prison and soon after arrested in the joint operation by MUP, the Bulgarian police, and the US DEA on suspicion of the cocaine trade.
