The city authorities’ portal quoted Chief Urbanist Marko Stojcic as saying that the appropriate services will be inspecting all public spaces as well as buildings owned by the city to determine whether they are safe to use and prevent a potential tragedy like the one at the Novi Sad Railway Station when a collapsed roof killed 14 people.

Stojcic said the first public space is the Bezistan passage between the central Nikola Pasic square and Terazije square.

He called the public and city institutions to inform the city Inspections Secretariat if they know of any building that poses a danger to the public.
