Belgrade communal services cancel university camp

The JKP Zelenilo which maintains the city’s parks and woods, sent the organizers of the Ecological Camp a note saying it would not take part in the traditional event and adding that the participants are not welcome. The camp has been organized by professors and students at the Belgrade University schools of Biology and Geography.

A statement by professors and students said that the camp has been organized for years with JKP Zelenilo and the two university schools working together well. It said that they are not surprised by the decision which they were informed of without any reasonable explanation. “This is just one in a series of forms of pressure by the regime against Belgrade University students and professors,” it said.
