Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said on Monday that some 100,000 tourists spent New Year's Eve in Serbia's capital, leaving between 90-100 million euros behind.
He added that some 50,000 of them were in the streets during the New Year's concert.
"There were no incidents," Vesic said, adding that most of the visitors were from the region but also Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia and Arab countries.
In the meantime, a young man from the Croatian city of Split was reported missing on New Year's Eve in Belgrade. The police said it had launched an extensive search, and the father came to Belgrade. He appealed to everyone who had any information about his son's whereabouts to come forward even anonymously.
