Belgrade mayor lashes out at construction minister

“I will no longer allow anyone to stop me from doing big things during my term in office just for the sake of peace,” he told a news conference. He added that he would not longer put up with Vesic’s frustration and what he called his whining in the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Vesic is a former deputy mayor of Belgrade. Both men are SNS officials.

“I won’t back away from rats,” he said.

Sapic accused Vesic of paying analysts and former politicians and befriending TV personalities to take his side. “I don’t have BIRN to finance so it can wage my battles in the party and outside of it, I have no connections in opposition media,” Sapic said specifying that Vesic has all those things.

Sapic also accused the construction ministry of obstructing the Belgrade city authorities.
