Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric and Belgrade’s chief negotiator Petar Petkovic condemned wednesday’s Kosovo Police raids of Serbian parallel institutions.
Djuric said that the raids are a dangerous escalation. He said the “coordination operation by Albin Kurti’s government was … an obvious attempt to undermine the collective rights and identity of the Serbs in Kosovo”. Djuric called the international community to stop turning a blind eye and take immediate action.
Petkovic, head of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo, said the raids were “Kurti’s attack on Serbian institutions on a massive scale”. “A large number of our municipalities, social work centers, post offices are being forcibly closed… It is clear why Bisljimi did not appear in Brussels today,” he wrote in an X post prior to a scheduled meeting of the Joint Commission on Missing Persons. “This kind of terror calls into question the (EU facilitated Belgrade-Pristina) dialogue, he wrote adding that the responsibility lies with Kurti and the European Union.
