The Belgrade Police banned Monday a protest gathering entitled ‘There is no Serbia without Kosovo and Metohija,’ which was planned to take place on February 2 outside the Serbian Parliament building. (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province).

The Belgrade Police said the protest application was not filed on a timely manner and that it is not in line with the Public Assembly Act.

A Parliament session on Kosovo is scheduled to begin on February 2 and will be attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
