Prosecutors in Belgrade warned on Thursday that perpetrators will be held accountable for any violation of the police bans on the EuroPride parade and Anti-Globalist march.

The Higher Public Prosecution said that a violation of the ban is a misdemeanor and that perpetrators of any criminal act during either of the public gatherings will be held accountable under the criminal code.

A prosecution statement said that all measures would be taken with the Belgrade police and local prosecutors to secure law and order. “The Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) reached its decision following an assessment that there is a high risk to the safety of both gatherings as well as to the safety of others since the two groups planning gatherings hold opposed views,” the statement said.
