Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic denied the student claims saying that is false information placed at a time when Serbian officials face important international meetings.
“Our fellow student was abused by the police. Her head was banged against a table, she was hit with a pistol and cuffed to a radiator,” the students said. An Instagram post said that she was taken to the police station against her will and questioned in a basement room. “She was threatened in an attempt to get her to sign a document which she was not allowed to read,” it said and added that her injuries include a cut on the forehead from being slammed against a table, bruising to the hip from a pistol strike.
An X post included photographs of what the students said are her injuries.

She was released after the assault by police officers several days ago, it said and added that she found a severed doll’s head covered in red paint outside her workplace after the assault.
An Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) statement said that the Euromedik hospital reported that it treated the student on September 24 and added that she told medical staff that she was assaulted by police officers. It added that she refused to talk to a police patrol at the advice of her lawyer.
The MUP claims that an investigation showed that she was not at the Belgrade central police station on that day. It said that prosecutors and police internal affairs were informed the next day.
The agriculture students said in a separate Instagram post that the MUP statement was untrue, shameful and manipulative.
