The total length of the interconnection through Serbia is 109 kilometres, and the planned capacity of the gas pipeline is 1.8 billion cubic meters.
The estimated value of the investment is 85.5 million euros, and it is financed from EU pre-accession funds and a loan from the EIB, while the remaining funds are secured by Serbia and its ‘Srbijagas’ company.
Serbia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy said that the public call for supervisors on the Nis-Dimitrovgrad gas pipeline was in progress since January 11, 2021.
It added the works on the gas interconnection, which should enable the diversification of routes and suppliers, would begin in 202. The gas pipeline is expected to be operational in 2023.
