Belgraders pays tribute to musical legends Gabi Novak, Arsen and Matija Dedic
Citizens gathered at Belgrade’s central town square Terazije on Tuesday evening to pay tribute to Croatian singer Gabi Novak and her late husband Arsen and son Matija Dedic, lighting candles and leaving flowers in their memory.
Gabi Novak, 89, died on August 11. The sad news came just two months after her son Matija Dedic passed away at age 53.
At Terazije Fountain, candles flickered as people left flowers and speakers played songs by Arsen and Gabi, along with compositions by their son Matija.
Marko Oljaca, who organized the tribute, told N1 that “it’s not about returning their love to them, but about multiplying it and preserving it.”
“We are sad, but our hearts are full because we know they are still here, that they will remain in our hearts - their music, emotions, and beauty,” he emphasized.
