Instead of the messages on the billboard "There won't be a mine because that's what we want" and "No to mine, Yes to life," located some 200 meters from the barracks in Loznica, a new one appeared - "Welcome, dear President", and that was the night before the arrival Aleksandar Vucic to the Loznica barracks, which, as announced, will be his "new temporary office". The "Protect Jadar and Radjevina" Association has reported the case to the police and is looking for answers as to who bothered them and why their message was hidden, even though they had leased the time slot until the end of the year.

Marija Alimpic from the Association told N1 that on one side of the billboard it was written „There will be no mines because that’s what we want“, signed by the Association, but also numerous species that would be threatened by the creation of the mine, and on the other side it was written „No to mine, Yes to life“ as a clear message that there is no referendum and that there is no mine.

„The billboard was put up at the end of June, along with some others, and no one touched them, just like before. The night before Vucic’s arrival in Loznica, our billboard was removed without anyone asking or informing us. We have booked it until the end of the year,“ said Alimpic, when speaking about the new billboard.

She pointed out that this was set up during the night and that they were wondering who these „scary people“ were, who did not contact anyone from the Association.

„Other billboards were not taken down, only this one with which we gave voice and space to those whose survival would be permanently threatened in Jadar and Radjevina,“ she said, adding that they contacted the police and that they still do not know who is behind it.

She publicly asked whether the head of the Macvan district Zeljko Marjanovic and the assistant mayor of Loznica, Drako Karapandzic, were behind the removal of the billboard.

„We expect them to tell us who is behind it,“ Alimpic said.

They are appalled by what happened, she said, because the message that has emerged is not a message that everyone supports.

When asked whether she would respond to the call of the President of Serbia for a conversation, she pointed out that it was out of the question.

„We have no intention of faking his debates because we don’t want a mine and there is no compromise on this issue. What he’s doing is a complete abuse,“ said Marija Alimpic, stating that Vucic, as the President of the country, is not competent to discuss this matter, nor is he an expert.
