The Bureau of Social Research (BIRODI) called on the company Rio Tinto and all companies related to it by ownership or management to display a list of natural and legal persons on their websites to whom they have given sponsorship or donation since the beginning of business in Serbia.
We call on Rio Tinto to provide the public with information on whether they apply ethical business instruments within their operations, or whether they implement them, and if they implement them, to inform the public of the report on ethical business, said Birodi.
This organization also invited all legal entities whose work is co-financed from the Serbian budget to announce whether they were recipients of sponsorships or donations from Rio Tinto, based on whose decision and with what explanation, and to inform the public about this by presenting a report on the implementation of sponsorships and donations received from the company.
In their announcement, the Government of Serbia is invited to ask the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption to draw up an integrity plan for the Jadar Project, in which the points of risk to the integrity of the Rio Tinto project would be determined and measures to eliminate the risks would be prescribed.
